This is a common question asked by parents but it is difficult to give specific time limits for babies in capsules as this will differ from baby to baby, depending on their head and neck control.
However, we can give general guidelines.
These are to limit time in a capsule to 30 minutes for a “very young baby”, ie. newborn until they are able to hold their head up unaided.
Once a baby has better head and neck control and is able to reposition their head when they are asleep, then you can extend the time in the capsule.
Most guidelines suggest that at this stage, 90 minutes is the longest you should keep a little one in a capsule.
We would recommend taking baby out of the capsule to give their spine a stretch and ensure their airways are clear before continuing with travel.
